Call for Papers:

Significant institutional reform is urgently needed for better dealing with the complex environmental, social and economic challenges in China. In the 13^th Five-Year-Plan period, governmental organizations and their responsibilities, the command & control policies, economic and market-based approaches, as well as social governance and policies, will all be undergoing serious reform for better protecting the environment in China. The Professional Association for China’s Environment (PACE) is planning to sponsor an international conference, bringing together international scholars, governmental officials as well as leaders of nongovernmental organizations and business entities, to have a systematic review and discussion about the current status of various issues in environmental governance in China and provide recommendations for improvement. The major themes of the conference include but are not limited to the following:

■ Environmental institutions and reform

■ Environmental regulation and command-and-control policies

■ Economic policies and market-based approaches

■ Social governance and policies

All individuals who are interested to present in the conference may submit their papers to email account: ceczstu@zstu.edu.cn, based on the following schedule:

l Deadline of paper abstract submission: February 29, 2016

l Notification of paper acceptance: March 31, 2016

l Full paper submission: May 20, 2016

Location and Cost

Erlingshan Spring Hotel in Yinzhou District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, China; 中国浙江，宁波环湖东路1000号，宁波东钱湖恒源酒店/二灵山温泉

No registration fee will be required. Participants are expected to pay for their hotels and transportations.

Keynote Speakers:

A number of international scholars and Chinese governmental officials will be invited to participate in the conference. Scholars who have confirmed to participate include: Dr. Hua Wang of the World Bank’s Development Research Group; Prof. Zhifeng Yang of Beijing Normal University; Prof. Henk Folmer of the University of Groningen, Netherlands; Prof. Chuanzhong Li of the University of Uppsala, Sweden; Prof. Jie He of the University of Sherbrooke, Canada; Prof. Manhong Shen of Ningbo University, China; Prof. Tao Hu of WWF-US.
