国际知名数学家、希腊雅典大学John Michael Rassias教授来我校做学术报告

　　9月26日，应理学院邀请， 国际知名数学家、希腊雅典大学（National and Capodistrian University of Athens, Greece）数学系John Michael Rassias教授来我校为理学院数学系师生作了题为 “The exterior Bitsapze-Ravrentjev problem for quarter elliptic-quarter hyperbolic equations in a double connected domain” 的精彩报告。

　　报告会上， John Michael Rassias教授饶有兴趣地展示了连通区域上关于四分之一椭圆和四分之一双曲方程的外部Bitsapze-Ravrentjev问题，并从该著名问题的提出到此问题的发展历程做了精彩讲述。其次，John Michael Rassias教授重点介绍了关于在二连通区域上此问题解的关系，明确给出肯定的解的存在性，并讲解了证明思路。

　　报告吸引了理学院教师及研究生的踊跃参加，多位师生就自己感兴趣的问题进行了提问，John Michael Rassias教授都做了一一回答。师生们希望以后能够多参加这样的国际学术交流活动，与一流的专家学者进行面对面的交流。

　　John Michael Rassias教授简介：现为希腊 雅典National and Capodistrian 大学教授，1977年在美国加利福尼亚大学数学系获博士学位，曾在美国工作6年，1989年到雅典National and Capodistrian 大学工作，1996年评为副教授，2000年评为教授。是Journal of Inequalities in pure and Applied Mathematics(JIPAM), Australian Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications(AJMAA), Journal of Mathematics and Statistics( JMS)等40个国际学术期刊的编委，是美国数学会、英国伦敦皇家天文学会、微分方程国际学会等13个学会的会员，出版14本专著，主编了10本著作。
